FOUNDER, PRINCIPAL, & MANAGING DIRECTOR

After majoring in Accounting at Albright College, and spending several years working in various roles within private and non-profit finance teams, John founded TrueUp in 2016 at his kitchen table with a laptop and a passion for serving his community. In his younger years, John spent time growing up in both New York City and the Dominican Republic, but fell in love with Philadelphia as a young adult - and continues to live in the Greater Philly area with his fiancée, Tanya, and their two sons. He loves spending time with his family and their rescue dog, Mazzy; crafting cocktails; and listening to vintage hip-hop.

DIRECTOR OF CLIENT SERVICES & OPERATIONS

Matney came to TrueUp in September 2020 with 14+ years of combined Operations Strategy, HR, and Client Service experience in a wide range of industries, company sizes, and both nonprofit and for-profit settings. She’s lived in various places throughout the US in the past 10 years, including Key West, FL and Anchorage, AK. She now resides in Philadelphia with her partner, Mario, and their spazzy ginger tabby cat, Jojo. Matney loves animals, old buildings & architecture, craft cocktails, travel, percussion, and movies/film.

ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

Michele joined the TrueUp team in May 2019 and holds 10+ years of experience in supervisory/management roles overseeing AR operation teams for commercial healthcare and clinical research contract billing, including managing over $40mil AR portfolio for a medium-sized clinical research firm. Michele grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia & currently lives in the suburbs of Philly with her husband, Paul, and their golden retriever, Juliette Rose. She loves family life, especially spending time with her 3 grandchildren as much as possible as well as listening to music/audiobooks and hanging with friends.

ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

Alyx’s interest in accounting started in 2019 while she was working at a tax office as their receptionist. From there, she took a tax course and began learning basic accounting skills. She then became a bookkeeper for a non-profit organization. This experience led her to bookkeeping for the Trueup team in April of 2022. Alyx enjoys reading, writing, playing the ukulele, and singing loudly.

SENIOR ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE

Kristin’s journey to TrueUp in April 2023 began in the pharmaceutical marketing industry where she held senior accounting roles for several years. She moved on to work independently for 15 years with a wide range of businesses in a variety of accounting and HR capacities. Kristin grew up in CT and currently resides on the shoreline in RI with her two dogs. She’s an avid reader, yogi, and aspiring Reiki Master.
